Lorena Camara is a ceramic artist, who graduated from the Nacional Ceramic School in Argentina. She also studied classic and contemporary dance and photography.

Both dance and photography give a particular character to her work. Dance is reflected in the horses which appear ethereal, and the posture reminds us of the dancers jumping. On the other hand, some cats look like ballerinas on tiptoe.

Speaking about her current work she says:

“The challenge in my work is to evoke the freshness of the first steps of a being. In this work, in particular, the horse refers to dreamlike scenes where they transform into clouds or wind.

My work aims to resonate with the public by going to their games and fantasies of the past, accompanied by the subtlety that material as versatile as clay offers us in the different stages of transformation, alluding in turn to the transformations of the individual in their evolution.”

Currently, she is not only dedicated to her art, but she also organizes seminars and workshops in Argentina and Germany.

Lorena Camara es una artista ceramista, formada en la Escuela Nacional de Cerámica, aunque también estudio danza clásica y contemporánea y fotografía.

Ambas disciplinas le dan a su obra en cerámica y un carácter particular. La danza se refleja en la búsqueda de lo etéreo en sus caballos, figuras que semejan los saltos de las bailarinas, así como la postura erguida de sus gatos que parecieran estar en puntas de pie.

Dice la artista acerca de sus últimos trabajos:

“El desafío en mi obra es evocar la frescura propia de los primeros pasos de un ser. En esta obra en particular, el caballo remite a escenas oníricas donde los mismos se transforman en nubes o viento.

Mi trabajo pretende resonar en el publico indagando en sus propios juegos y fantasías del pasado, acompasados con la sutileza que nos propone un material tan versátil como la arcilla en las distintas etapas de transformación, aludiendo a su vez las transformaciones del individuo en su evolución.”

Actualmente además de trabajar en su obra artística, organiza seminarios en el interior del país y Alemania además de dictar clases de cerámica en Buenos Aires.
